How to View System Temperatures in Linux

Being a Linux user might mean being a power user therefore, it is necessary to also monitor hardware time to time. Whether you over clocked your processor, installed new hardware or just want to get an idea of how your system is running, I will show you how you can view your system temperatures.

Firstly get to your terminal

  • Enter this command Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint: sudo apt-get install lm-sensors
  • Enter this command Arch Linux: sudo pacman -S lm_sensors
  • Once its installed, you can type into the console: sensors

After running the final command, it may require you initialize the sensors otherwise, it will show you values for all the sensors detected in your system.
